Rock on!

Right this way for some rockin' action...

Jeff and Jake made it half way to China today. These six deep pits are the bases for piers that will support the house in our upcoming game of Jenga.

The essentials are still in place, but the stairs lead nowhere.

Outside, in the pile of old shed siding, was this piece naming the original homeowner. Mr. & Mrs. Don Vye raised ten kids in this 1908 uninsulated house, and one son visited us a few years ago. He was 80 years old.

It's a good thing that our second home awaits, because the jackhammers left a layer of concrete dust everywhere. Pretty soon we will have to be out of the house for 3-4 weeks.

Siding on the side

"What the heck is going on around here?" Ruby asks.

Siding is off, preparing for our lower half to be lifted, chopped and rebuilt.

Oh, the nails to pull! We shall reuse this green siding on the new shed.

In case of rain (guaranteed), we draped the storage boxes with an extra tarp.

Everything must be out by the end of this week. Cheri is amazing.

Our camping supplies are gathered, ready for a fall season in the back yard.

Nothing is straight forward, even chopping the wood!

Let the sun shine :) ...please!

Save this roof!

This is our little shed, built at the turn of the 20th century. It was made for horses, a carriage and some farming tools.

Yesterday Jacob lifted it's cute little roof and removed its siding for restoration. The old studs were piled in the driveway. 'Twas a beautiful sight to have crew and equipment working.

Slegg's, no, Harvey's Lumber:

What to do with a good old door or two...recycle?

Today the roof is fully floating and the modest wood pile is ready for winter.
